Full body massage: relaxation and well-being for body and mind

A full body massage is more than just a pleasant break from everyday life. It is a proven method of reducing stress, promoting blood circulation and increasing general well-being. We try to answer all the important questions about full body massages and explain why they are so beneficial for your health.

What is a full body massage and which parts of the body are massaged?

A full body massage involves massaging the entire body, from head to toe. Usually the back, shoulders, neck, legs, feet, arms, hands & buttocks are treated. The stomach and face are also possible on request. The genital area is not treated and remains covered at all times. Please let us know what you particularly like or dislike. In a classic relaxation massage, various massage techniques such as kneading, stroking and tapping are used to relieve tension, relax the muscles and improve blood flow. This form of massage can be adapted to suit individual needs and preferences and also differs depending on the therapist’s specialization: Influences from Ayurvedic massage, Tuina or Lomi Lomi are possible.

What are the benefits of a full body massage?

1. Stress reduction: By calming the nervous system and releasing endorphins, a full body massage helps to reduce stress and tension.
2. Improved circulation: Massage promotes blood flow and ensures that more oxygen and nutrients reach the cells.
3. Pain relief: Regular massages can relieve chronic pain and improve mobility.
4. Skin care: Massage makes the skin more supple and allows it to breathe better.
5. Detoxification: Stimulating the lymphatic flow helps the body to detoxify and strengthens the immune system.

How does a full body massage work? What do I have to undress for a full body massage?

At the beginning of the massage, there is usually a short preliminary talk to discuss any complaints or special wishes. You will then have a short time to undress. As a rule, you will undress down to your underpants/briefs. (For an Ayurvedic full body massage, you will be given a pair of briefs so that the oil does not rub off). The massage itself takes place in a calm, relaxed atmosphere and usually lasts between 75 and 90 minutes. It often starts with the back and then works its way down the arms, legs and head.

Is a full body massage suitable for everyone?

In principle, a full body massage is suitable for most people. However, people with certain health problems such as cardiovascular disease, skin infections or recent surgery should consult their doctor before having a massage.

How often should you get a massage?

The frequency of massages depends on individual needs and goals. Many people find that a monthly massage is enough to feel relaxed and healthy. For chronic complaints or high stress levels, it may be advisable to have a massage every one to two weeks.

What should you do after a full body massage?

After the massage, it is important to drink plenty of water to flush toxins out of the body more quickly. You should also allow yourself a period of rest and avoid strenuous activities to maximize relaxation.

For a full body massage, it is best to book a classic relaxation massage lasting at least 75 minutes.
