Craniosacral Therapy Zurich
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is gentle and effective on physical, mental & emotional issues. Here in the practice Zurich in district 6.
Craniosacral therapy according to the principles of osteopathy is a gentle and subtle form of treatment that encompasses the entire body, but is particularly focused on the craniosacral system. This physiological system includes cranial bones (cranium), vertebral bodies, sacrum (sacrum), brain and spinal cord membranes, as well as cerebrospinal fluid (cerebrospinal fluid), which protects the central nervous system. The craniosacral system influences other important physiological systems such as hormone, nervous and muscle systems.
In our practice in Zurich, the biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is applied, which works more on the energetic level than on a purely mechanical one. The basis of this form are the fine rhythmic movements of the craniosacral system, which can be felt throughout the body. The “breath of life” is the force behind the movements through which the body can regulate and regenerate itself.
Craniosacral Therapy is a bodywork in which the client’s personality is treated with the greatest care, attentiveness and freedom from value. Through gentle touches and impulses the inner rhythm is brought back into flow, whereby the self-healing powers of the body function better and the nervous system comes into the best possible balance. The health of the person is supported and resources are strengthened so that positive changes can take place. This form of treatment can be applied to people of all ages, even if they are in a very painful or fragile condition.

The course of a craniosacral treatment
Each session is individual and oriented to your needs. During the first conversation we talk about your goals, expectations, wishes with which you come to me. Everything has its place and may get space.
Usually we work in comfortable clothes on a massage couch, but sometimes we also work in a sitting position. The craniosacral techniques are gentle (and gentle) – the pressure is rarely stronger than the weight of a hand – to detect both the resources and limitations of the craniosacral system. With presence, mindfulness, patience and an open heart we follow the body and it shows us what it needs to better exercise its self-regulating functionality.
Info
Please bring loose clothing for treatment. One session usually lasts 60 minutes.
As a rule, several treatments can be expected for a successful therapy.
Craniosacral therapy for babies, toddlers and children
With the “Cranio” for babies and children, there is first a short conversation to capture all the details of the birth and the character of the child. After the birth with a suction cup, for example, it may be advisable to rebalance the structures of the head, neck and back so that the newborn baby can relax again.
Birth events or prenatal incidents often cannot be resolved and integrated by themselves. Through craniosacral therapy, the child is supported in its ability to self-regulate and experiences relaxation on a physical and emotional level.
Craniosacral therapy is especially helpful for babies:
- with digestive problems and increased colic
- with frequent crying (writing babies)
- in the case of birth trauma (e.g. sucker birth, forceps birth, difficult birth)
- for torticollis (this includes e.g. Kiss syndrome, torticollis)
- Breast feeding problems: drinking problems, sucking problems, swallowing problems (one side too much milk)
- if the baby is over-stimulated, has insomnia or is restless
Craniosacral therapy is particularly helpful for older children:
- for ADHD children
- for concentration problems
- Problems of coordination
- Learning problems
- in case of over-stimulation, insomnia or agitation of the child
- Dyslexia
- Corrections of tooth position
- Jaw complaints
- Post-traumatic disorders after accidents, operations and other traumatic experiences
